TOE and dumb things
a) ToE

RAZD gave you a link. The net is full of them.

Dumbski's information theory.

:) Perfect! :) Dumb is just the right word. But that isn't how you spell his name. Do a search here to find some comments on it. It will be harder to get an idea about since if it is made clear what is wrong with it becomes apparent. But it's probably all over the web too.

Re: flow chart from DNA to Protein to Life
Hi Wounded King,
I'm just a kid doing research. I truly appreciate your input.

I'd also contend that the genetic code is not embedded in DNA in any meaningful way.

I got this info from nobelprize.org. It says "DNA carries the genetic info of a cell and consists of a thousands genes". Is this wrong info?Over-simplification?

It is also worth noting that DNA to RNA is not usually consider replication or copying since mRNA is significantly distinct to DNA. Also your note on DNA/RNA is pretty much pure fantasy, or do you have some references to research showing that DNA an be exported and translated to amino acids and that in such cases mRNA can be reverse transcribed and reincorporated into the genome.

That info I got from Nobelprize.org.

Given how bad it is your thread might be better to focus more intensively on editing your flow chart instead of all these regurgitated creationist arguments.

Sorry, if the thread is bad. I'm doing research. Could you suggest an improvement on the flow-chart that could be understood by kids like me?

Re: questions and PRATTs
Razd,
Thanks for your valuable input to my research:
Just a few question, if you won't mind.

razd writes:

We also know that the early earth was bombarded by amino acids that formed in space and were carried to the earth by meteors. We have recovered some of these amino acids from meteors that have landed on earth in recent years.

I've read from another source that yes, they found left handed amino acids even in meteorites. But, one possible explanation is these came from earth during some of its "cataclysmic" events--e.g. violent eruption of earthly volcanos--that sent these stuff to the atmosphere and stuck to these meteorites. Any other plausible explanation re. left handed amino acid?

razd writes:

That may be what you were taught in your school, however it is not either "Darwinian evolution" (pre-genetics) nor is it Biological evolution (post-genetics).

How do I tell my teacher that he is teaching us garbage about evolution?

Make Them Up
I am waiting for other answers specially from those who believe in ID.
Just make up some answers for the ID'ers and they can sign on to them instead of their having to make stuff up themselves.

Kindly

Re: flow chart from DNA to Protein to Life
It says "DNA carries the genetic info of a cell and consists of a thousands genes". Is this wrong info?Over-simplification?

That is right, but it doesn't say that genetic codes are embedded in DNA. The genetic code is principally the equivalence between specific coding triplets of nucleotides 'codons' and specific amino acids. It can also be used more generally to talk about the way sequences of DNA interact with proteins in the cell and the regulation of gene expression. Carrying information isn't the same as having a code embedded in DNA.

That info I got from Nobelprize.org.

In the absence of any more specific reference all I can say is I think you seriously misunderstood what you read.

Sorry, if the thread is bad.

Actually I meant the flow chart was bad, but the thread is bad as well.

Could you suggest an improvement on the flow-chart that could be understood by kids like me?

The first thing I would suggest is that you try and get a good understanding of the processes involved in DNA -> RNA -> protein. At the moment you have some things right but a whole lot of extraneous nonsense which tends to suggest you have mainly cut and pasted or tried to paraphrase information from varying sources without understanding it. If you like I can provide some more specific criticisms, but really you should probably start over from scratch.

TTFN,

WK

Stick to Topic
Thread moved here from the Coffee House forum.

ABE
From now on the topic is DNA to proteins. We are not discussing any more general issues here.
